The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM) has recently announced and launched the new 2024 Syllabus for the Bowed Instruments – ABRSM Violin Syllabus 2024 and also, for Viola, Cello and Double Bass.
The syllabuses are valid from 1 January 2024 and supported by a wide range of new books for teachers and learners.
ABRSM is one of the leading Western Classical music education body from the UK. The ABRSM website says: “ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) is the UK’s largest music education body, one of its largest music publishers and the world’s leading provider of music exams, holding over 650,000 assessments in more than 90 countries every year. As a registered charity, we also make significant donations towards music education initiatives around the world.”
It is widely known that the ABRSM Syllabuses change in every few years. The ABRSM Twitter handle posted the information of the 2024 Syllabuses for all the Bowed String instruments on 9th June 2023. The Twitter post says: “Nurture musical talent with our new Violin Exam Pieces (Grades 1-8) and Cello Exam Pieces (Grades 1-5)! Each book features nine pieces from the syllabuses, including new commissions, core classics and music from across the world.”
